Aerial Photo of Our Lady's Island, Wexford

A number of priority sites have been identified here along the dynamic south east coastline of Ireland. Work to be undertaken on sites such as Rosslarefort, a historic settlement abandoned due to storm events in 1924 will involve utilising the varied CHERISH marine, terrestrial and aerial toolkits. Presently, this settlement at the entrance to Wexford harbour is intertidal with the land bridge that adjoined the settlement to the mainland now completely submerged. Maritime cultural landscape studies of the Saltee Islands will help further our knowledge of this island group and develop understanding on the impacts of climate change on islands
